A new fad? Who knows.

I've been trying out "Brijit" recently -- a new-ish online site that catalogues 100-word abstracts of magazine, web and video content. Anyone can write and hey, they even decided to publish one of mine (although I've submitted about six or seven pretty solid ones). Got my check for five bucks in the mail yesterday, so I decided to plug 'em.

It seems the corporate wine world just got a bit more complicated. Mackay examines the mergers of the past several years, including big names such as Constellation and Fortune. Through a patchwork of name-tossing and hearsay, he warns readers of the homogenized future of wine if left in the hands of large corporations rather than smaller brands that sell "wines made by people."

I'm not sure how long I'll spend my time brijin'. I can't argue with some dough, but some of my thoughts that weren't published somehow ended up as verbage in the ones that were... hmm.

"w00t," an expression of joy coined by online gamers, was crowned word of the year on Tuesday by the publisher of a leading U.S. dictionary.
